When we first came into existance, we were called the Shin Buddhist Association of Great Britain. In 2005, when Jim took control, this was changed to the Pure Land Buddhist Fellowship. In 2014 we went through our third incarnation, and became known as the Shin Buddhist Fellowship UK. A publication bearing the name Pure Land Notes has been with us here in the UK since the mid-1970's. Over time it evolved from a simple A4 newsletter into a ful colour 20xA5 page hard-copy journal, published quarterly as Pure Land Notes; journal of the Pure Land Buddhist Fellowship. When, in 2012, www.purelandnotes.com was launched, its primary purpose was to offer a way in which people could make on-line subscriptions to the hard-copy journal. Back then, the majority of subscribers prefered the hard-copy. Those days are now long gone - but Pure Land Notes lives on as a WEBLOG - optimised to look good on smartphones. |
